The Project will promote greater intensification and diversification of high-value commercial and nutritionally-rich crops and linkages to markets for sale of quality value-chain products. The focus will be on poor and vulnerable smallholder farmers experiencing food insecurity, with priority given to women farmers, living in increasingly fragile and degraded environments affected by natural disasters and climate change. A key emphasis is working closely with the Government of Bangladesh to identify gaps in existing capacities and build on efforts already under way.

BRAC is piloting a 3 years long project on “Safe Migration for Bangladeshi Workers”, funded through the Japan Social Development Fund and managed by the World Bank. The overall goal of this project is to reduce the risk of irregular migration by engaging respective communities as an active agent in that case.  In all the working areas there will be respective community-based organizations (CBO) to get strengthen and perform as a strong agent for the community to enhance safe migration to attain the project goal.
