Habitat for Humanity International (“HFHI”) is a non-profit ecumenical Christian organisation dedicated to eliminating substandard housing and homelessness worldwide and to making adequate, affordable shelter a matter of conscience and action. Habitat for Humanity is founded on the conviction that every man, woman and child should have a simple, decent, affordable place to live in dignity and safety. Habitat for Humanity Bangladesh (HFHB) is a relativity small operation dedicated to the eradication of substandard housing and homelessness.HFHB will implement a project “Building Resilient Urban Slum Settlements in Dhaka, Bangladesh Project” focusing with water, sanitation, health & hygiene, housing & infrastructure, knowledge & capacity building of slum dwellers for the period up February 2014 to December 2015 funded by Australian aid under Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) and looking for interested and qualified candidates for the following position. The expected start date of the position is February 01, 2014 and ending in December 2015.
Project Coordinator (Based in Dhaka)
Main Duties & Responsibilities:  Responsible for the implementation of the urban resiliency project in slums as per the grant agreement and Project Implementation Plan (PIP) under the supervision of Program Manager  Lead, motivate and provide technical support to the construction coordinator in hardware activities  Organize and conduct training for the community people on Water, Sanitation and Hygiene issues Develop and maintain good relationship with all government agencies including Dhaka City Corporation , NGOs, partner organizations, community leaders, Community WaSH Committee (CWC) and other stakeholders for smooth implementation of the project  Support Monitoring, Evaluation and Reporting Officer in baseline survey, vulnerability assessment and project evaluations Responsible for preparing periodic progress, activity and statistical reports including project end report for Program Manager  Oversee the preparation and submission of monthly/quarterly activity-based project budgets and producing monthly and quarterly funding requests  Support in procurement process for the project related procurements  Identify, collect and document case stories and best practices for dissemination.

Requirements:  The ideal person should have graduation, master degree preferred, with at least 3 years of working experience preferably on slum development/urban project with a development organization  Basic knowledge on house improvements through renovation and construction of water sources, water reservoir, community toilets and bath houses in slum area  Sound hand on report writing  Advance skills in MS Excel and MS Word  Sound communication skill both in English & Bengali  Capacity to handle multi tasks & prioritize job responsibilities  Sound judgment and decision-making  skills.
Salary: Approximately Taka 32,400-36,000 per month (negotiable based on competency of selected candidate) with all other regular benefits.
