Programme Officer

Key Responsibilities: Being a team member, s/he will promote climate change adaptation focusing water, sanitation and hygiene promotion programming by engaging communities and LGIs; guide on building their capacity through partner NGOs for implementing effective and sustainable projects; support in preparation of annual plan and budget; responsible for monitoring and follow up of field activities to ensure quality outputs within stipulated timeframe, facilitate Partner NGOs’ training activities etc. The position will confidently represent WaterAid in different national/international meeting/seminar/conferences. Also the position will be responsible to establish prolific networking with relevant stakeholders etc.

Person specification:

• Masters or equivalent degree preferably in Environmental science/ Disaster Management . Excellent academic track record is preferred.
• At least 4 years relevant work experience with reputed national/ international organizations
• Profound knowledge on the issues of climate change, disaster management, community management and empowerment
• Ability to provide capacity building support to Partner NGOs, supervise programme interventions and monitor the same
• Knowledge and experience on Participatory tools and techniques for community situation analysis and assessment
• Excellent presentation and communication skills in English
• Report writing skills both in Bangla & English along with sound analytical skills.
• Adequate computer skills particularly on MS word, Excel, Powerpoint.
• Ready to undertake extensive field visits in remote areas.

Working Hours:	Full time (minimum 37.5 hours per week)
