Accounts Officer: Habitat for Humanity International (“HFHI”)

Habitat for Humanity International (“HFHI”) is a non-profit ecumenical Christian organisation dedicated to eliminating substandard housing and homelessness worldwide and to making adequate, affordable shelter a matter of conscience and action. Habitat for Humanity is founded on the conviction that every man, woman and child should have a simple, decent, affordable place to live in dignity and safety. Habitat for Humanity Bangladesh is a relativity small operation dedicated to the eradication of substandard housing and homelessness. 
Accounts Officer
Regular position & based in Dhaka

Main Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Prepare, check/review the cash disbursement voucher, journal voucher, deposit voucher and follow up the travel and regular advances and review the journal entry in SUN/ Quick Book before posting.
  • Responsible to prepare all types of financial reports according to the needs of internal and audit purpose. 
  • Collect all financial reports from field/projects offices, and check & ensure accuracy of those reports, and clarify any inquiries prior to prepare and prepare consolidated reports for Finance Manager
  • Initiate, motivate, supervise and ensure assigned filed offices/projects Accountants are receiving, posting and depositing all received amounts in the assigned bank.
  • Prepare provident fund and salary statement for disbursement & maintain provident, gratuity and salary register and distribute pay slip;
  • Visit field offices/projects to help and guide the HRC Administrator to maintain supporting documents and other financial documents.
  • Responsible to prepare and update all fixed and non-fixed assets inventory lists of national office and field/project offices with physical verification;
  • Maintain Fund Transfer Request (FTR) process for field/project offices.
  • Understand, abide by, implement of all financial policies, procedures and guidelines of the organization.
  • Assist Senior Finance Manager and Finance Manager in internal audit/external audit/international audit process
Requirements:
  • The ideal person should have Master degree in Accounting, CA course competed is preferred
  • At least 2-3 years of working experience in Accounts & Finance preferably with a Development Organization; ·
  • Fundamental understanding of Accounting Principles and concepts;
  • Advance skills on MS Excel and MS Word and familiarity with Accounting Software like QuickBooks and SunSystem; ·
  • Good understanding of Accounting data analysis and report generation
  • Good communication skills in both English & Bengali
  • Willingness to visit field frequently
  • Maintain a high morale with integrity and honesty
  • Capacity to handle multi tasks & prioritize job responsibilities;
  • Team player and quality to maintain high level of friendly, gentle and polite communication with staff and stakeholders.
Salary:
Approximately Taka 32,400-36,000 per month (negotiable based on competency of selected candidate) with all other regular benefits.
